Cheap Flights from DFW to Paris

CDG vs. Orly, non-stop options, and when to book — everything you need to know about getting from Dallas to Paris without overspending.

DFW to Paris is one of the strongest long-haul routes out of Dallas. American Airlines operates a non-stop to Charles de Gaulle (CDG), and Delta and United run connections through their respective hubs. The route is competitive enough that pricing is reasonable — if you know when to book and which airport to target.

Here's what 30 years in hospitality has taught Jay Jayyusi about this route.

The Airports: CDG vs. Orly

Charles de Gaulle (CDG): The default for transatlantic flights from DFW. American's non-stop hits Terminal 3, and the immigration setup is functional though crowded at peak hours. CDG is the largest airport in France and has the best onward connections — TGV train to anywhere in France, connections to other European cities, and a transit hub that actually works. The downside: CDG is 35km northeast of central Paris, so your ground transport into the city takes 40–60 minutes by train or car.

Orly (ORY): Smaller, closer to Paris (14km south), and often cheaper. If you're flying into Orly and your hotel is in the 6th, 7th, 14th, or 15th arrondissement, the ground logistics are genuinely better. The Orlybus runs to Denfert-Rochereau in 30 minutes for about €12. Orly tends to have fewer long-haul delays and a less chaotic immigration experience than CDG.

Non-Stop vs. One-Stop: Is the Premium Worth It?

The non-stop DFW–CDG flight is approximately 9 hours and 45 minutes. A one-stop connection (via London, Madrid, or Chicago) adds 4–6 hours and usually costs $200–$400 less round-trip in economy. For business class passengers, the non-stop is almost always worth it. For economy passengers on a tight budget, the savings from a connection can be real — but factor in the total travel time and the airport chaos at the connection hub before deciding.

The sweet spot for DFW–Paris pricing: Book economy 9–12 weeks out for the best pricing. Business class books best 4–6 months out. Peak summer (June–August) and Christmas/New Year see the highest fares; shoulder season (April–May, September–October) delivers the best value with excellent weather.

What to Know About Paris Before You Fly

Paris in August is a different city. Half the restaurants close, locals leave, and the city serves the tourist version of itself. If your flight dates fall in August, read this: Jay's Paris Hotel GM Picks include a specific section on why August bookings require extra care.

The good news: Paris hotel pricing is more stable than London or NYC, and the city rewards longer stays. A 4-night minimum is worth targeting — Paris doesn't reveal itself in 48 hours.
